Comparison of Ripple Absorption Efficiency


For smoothing ability of PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) square wave (for example, switching frequency at 500kHz), block capacitors can achieve better smoothing characteristic with 100uF, compared to aluminum electrolysis capacitors 470uF. As switching frequency goes up higher, it’s possible to reduce the capacitance of block capacitors and miniaturize the size of equipments.
